Door Supervision
Door Supervision in Carlisle & Cumbria
The right people in, the wrong people out, and a licence behind every decision.
A door supervisor is the first person your customers meet and the last line between your venue and a licence review. Get it right and the night runs itself. Get it wrong and you are explaining yourself to the licensing authority.
We supply SIA-licensed door supervisors to pubs, bars, clubs and licensed venues across Carlisle and Cumbria — including the busy weekend circuit in Carlisle city centre, and the market-town venues where one bad incident is the talk of the place for a fortnight.
What good door work looks like
It looks like nothing happening. A door team earning its money is one that de-escalates the argument at half eleven that would otherwise have been a fight at midnight.
Protecting the licence. ID checked properly, Challenge 25 applied without exception, capacity respected, and drunk or drug-affected customers refused at the door rather than removed from the middle of your floor later. Your premises licence is the single most valuable thing you own, and it is lost on details like these.
Protecting your staff. Bar staff should never be the ones dealing with an aggressive customer. That is the door team's job, and it is the reason your people will stay.
Protecting your customers. A visible, professional door presence is why people feel safe enough to come back. Vulnerable customers looked out for, and trouble intercepted before it reaches anyone.
Protecting you afterwards. Incidents logged, refusals recorded, and a written account of what happened — which is exactly what you will want if a complaint or a review ever lands.
Venues we cover
City-centre pubs and late bars. Nightclubs and live music venues. Village and market-town locals. Hotels and function rooms. One-off late licences, beer festivals and bank holiday weekends — and if you need event security for something bigger, that is the same conversation.
If a customer needs to be removed and you have nobody on the door, that is exactly the call our out-of-hours service exists for. The phone is answered. Somebody comes.

Door Supervision — common questions
-
That depends on capacity, layout, the number of entrances and what your licence requires. Some conditions specify a ratio. Call us with your capacity and your licence conditions and we will tell you what you actually need — not what is easiest for us to bill.
-
Yes, without exception. Working a door without a valid SIA licence is a criminal offence for the individual and a serious problem for the venue that engaged them. Every one of our door staff is licensed, and the badge is worn where you and the licensing authority can see it.
-
Yes. Bank holidays, beer festivals, live music nights, private functions and one-off extended licences are all routine bookings. Give us as much notice as you can and we will cover it.
-
Ring 07368 383364. Our phone is answered 24 hours a day, and if a client needs someone removed out of hours, we come out and deal with it. That is not a call centre taking a message — it is the reason the number is on 24/7.
